The service was excellent and the attention to our needs was noticed without asking. Wait staff was very attentive, not overbearing. Overall 5 food 5 service 4 ambience 5.
We also love the chicken entrees and the lobster crusted salmon. For dessert, Nutella creme brulee - delish! Small, but fine for after a large meal. The ambiance and service are always pleasant. I have been here for date night, lunch, and brunch.
The lunch value is amazing for Huntington. Brunch is also well-priced and has a wide variety of options. I have heard excellent things about happy hour my mom frequents. This place is one of my favorites in Huntington! The steak was cooked horribly. Thai calamari and service were very good. Arturo our waiter was excellent. The food was delicious.
I had the Steak it was cooked exact. The Grouper is amazing. Good live music as well. I was not happy with my experience. We waited 20 minutes at our table and no one even came and took our drink order. Very disappointed, Had eaten here for lunch awhile back and it was very good.
Soup was lukewarm, bread was overbrowned, skirt steak was over cooked. Everything was very good. I would highly recommend black and blue.
For the non-meat-eaters in my group, there were plenty of choices. For those of us who eat anything and everything, we too were satisfied. The Thai calamari a family favorite was perhaps the best order we have gotten to date. Thank you for a great meal and for easy accommodations for a party of 7 during a 'graduation' weekend. I was quite disappointed upon arriving.
The photos provided by the website were very misleading. This was a Father's Day brunch. Unfortunately Black and Blue would not have been my choice to celebrate the occassion. Most of been short staffed, seem to take forever to get waiter tome table I.
It was our anniversary. This our favorite spot in Huntington. The food and service were outstanding as always. The owner and staff are all so accommodating and friendly. Atmosphere on Friday and Saturday nights fun. The food was very good. Sharing portions of mussel appetisers. Prime rib was excellent. My only dissatisfaction was I ordered a margarita for 13 Dollars and expected it to be served in a margarita glass instead of a half filled wine glass.
We've been there at least 6 times and we've never been disappointed. Food and service were both excellent! Menu was varied and interesting. Enjoyed the paella and filet mignon. Food was excellent from appetizer to dessert. Had a groupon so it was an excellent deal. Lots of gluten free options. Our waiter Rocco was excellent. Good food and great service. I've been here plenty of times and I love this place.
However, this time I was really disappointed with the service. But disappointing that a booth was requested and we were sat in a corner side dining room instead.
The alternative was rather insulting, considering it was in a corner by the kitchen. Then the special occasion birthday was not addressed at all either meanwhile it was noted in the reservation. The food was good except for two problems. First, the lobster truffle macaroni and cheese was delicious but completely lacking any pieces of lobster.
Was this supposed to just be lobster flavoring and not actual pieces of lobster? The second problem was that they took the flourless chocolate cake off the menu! One of our diners is gluten free and looking forward to dessert, only to be disappointed when told they no longer have it The server was very accommodating and friendly, but disappeared for long intervals at a time. Service was a little slow but they were very busy. How is a steak house out of rib eye?
Husband then ordered t- bone which was a thin overlooked cut. Asked for medium rare. Ordered soup no spoon! Had to wait for knifes as each meal was delivered individually for a party of four. Service down hill over the years, so off our list of places to go! Too many great restaurants out there!
Food was good but service was very slow! Seemed as if the serves had no idea what to do Staff was friendly, great ambiance Our server was good. Food was under seasoned. I reviewed the menu prior to going and was excited to try the lobster breaded salmon.
However, the meal actually does not have any lobster in it. Very disappointing being that I specifically traveled there for that. Good think I ordered appetizers, they were better than the meal. Went there for the first time for our anniversary, I let them know when I bookec on Open Table. We had to wait a crazy amount of time for the dinner menus to be printed.
We were given the bar menu but preferred to wait for the dinner menu. The dining room filled up quickly and there werent enough menus ready for everyone, we were told one per table.
The staff to no fault of their own seemed flustetered and no one seemed to take charge. Dinner was ok, wasnt wowed, my carrots were ice cold like they just cane out of the fridge.
We ordered dessert and after ordering were told it was the wrong menu. Very disappointed in the overall expereince. Our server did the best he could under the circumstances. Ambiance is very good. Service has always been excellent as well as the food. Thank you for making our night a special evening. Service was very good. Great management, staff, atmosphere and food. Because it was on a concert night there was a limited menu. I really don't eat seafood or mushrooms.
Most of the food had mushrooms. I of course could ask them not to include them on my food but sometimes the food is already permeated with the smell and taste. The other thing I found odd was that Octopus was on the menu.
Because the menu only had very few items on it I found that quite odd since Octopus is kind of rare, especially in the desert. I only ate a baked potato and a small salad. They at least tasted good. Anyway it would be nice if they put more normal items on their menu for a concert night. Find out how to make a special dinner salad! The "Agave" salad was really just a bag of spinach dumped on very little else.
The spinach stems were not even removed! WAY overpriced for what it was. The others had prime rib and seemed happy with their meals. At p it was not crowded The 3 of us ordered apps and wine and 3 identical dinners: All ordered steaks med-rare.
When order came , 2 steaks were medium the 3rd was well done!! So much so that it was sent back to cook new steak. Took minutes and by that time 2 of us were done. I Complained to manager who offered to comp her dessert. I dont believe that would begin to have compensated us for our aggrivation. Still dont understand how the steaks could have been miss cooked by the grill that poorly.
Like I said not a busy nite at all. I wont be going back to the Agave again, The manager there also has a real attitude and should be replaced or demoted. Very sad that this guy is representing DDC. Needs to be evaluated by Casino Management. Wonderful people and good food. We will return for a special place for dinner. Prim rib was good. Watestaff not good had a problem with cold food and was not good for replacement. The restaurant was great. The Opentable reservation system indicated no availability of tables for 5: There were many tables available for that time slot.
My wife and I were celebrating our 29 th wedding anniversary, so we agreed to spend it at Agave. We have been here before with always very good results. The dinner was delicious and the service was exceptional. We will be returning again. We have had dinner at Agave many times. We have always had very good meals and are particularly impressed with the vegetables included on their entrees. They are perfectly cooked and help make each meal an enjoyable experience.
Great food, great setting, the price of some dishes a little high, but great place. The Fish and Chips are fantastic, and priced right. Great food and great service. Has been the best visit yet. There were ten of us, and normally one or two are unhappy with what they order when we go out. Everyone loved the food! The service was excellent and the attention to our needs was noticed without asking. The food was not only tasty, it was beautifully prepared and had a real gourmet touch.
We will be back! Food was exquisite, service was dynamite. Everyone was so efficient, gracious and friendly. They made my 90 year young mother's birthday experience so very special. Friendly, capable server who went the extra mile.
Vegetarians and meat eaters were all happy. We were very disappointed in the quality of the prime rib we ordered. It was so unbelievably fat that it actually made us queasy. The mashed potatoes were cold and lumpy and the gravy on the meat tasted as if it was made from the instant powder variety. The dinner rolls were fair. We hadn't been to Agave for several years and now I remember why. Even though the deal may sound enticing, the quality of the food is so inferior as to render the cost moot.
I can get a much more delicious meal at home. I was not advised upon making the reservation that it was a "concert menu only" night, so this is a feature that needs to be updated through the reservations program.
This saw us not being allowed happy hour prices nor items, and the menu was truncated for the event. Prices were no different than normal, but we were going specifically to hit happy hour, so we did not indulge in cocktails. The prime rib was chewy, the potatoes bland, and the bread stale. The waitress removed the bread completely when we indicated it was not very good, but did not replace it. One prime rib meal was returned, and replaced with an identical piece.
Some of the wait staff was brand new and did not have answers to the questions we asked, so more thorough training is suggested. We were disappointed and usually we're not -- we like the Agave. But this time the service was slow and the food much below par.
Our steak for 2 was wayyyy overcooked and not a premium piece. The side salad was just a few spears. The food is great, the service is great! Always enjoy eating there. Wonderful food and service from Eddie, our server! We were celebrating a birthday and received a delicious free dessert! We enjoyed the Prime Rib dinner special. The cuts of meat were exceptional, and prepared just as we ordered. The vegetables were amazing, and we were glad we also ordered the Cesar Salad appetizer.
Dessert was a wonderful indulgence! Our server was super sweet and helpful. She was very attentive to us, and never left us asking for anything. We will be back again for this special, and the other dinner options we saw advertised.
Thank you for such a lovely dining experience. We went to celebrate a birthday. Our waitress, Ashley was fabulous and very attentive. Food was great and reasonably priced. We will return again.
