Plan to spend at least an hour and a half. The CG is attached to the Casino, the toilets are located in the casino 24 hours a day. A long sewer line is needed to use the sewer hook up at the site. Due to early departure from Canada due to the wildfires, we had to stay 2 days at the casino. Isolated as this is, not likely you won't lose some here.
Sites are great, full HU, well maintained. A basic park but with full hookups of which only a few pull-throughs are 50 amp. Don't park until you check in. The RV park and check-in is behind casino and hard to see. No hookups there but dump station nearby.
Clean park with good grass for pets. La Conner is a beautiful little town with nice shops. The drive up to Mt. Baker was quite long. Plan for a day trip. Be sure to stop and take short path to Nooksack Falls if you go. Good fuel price at casino. Since we did not need a full-fledged park for our one night stop, we stayed here for the first time since last century.
Check in is at the casino resort. The RV park is north of the casino parking lot. The only thing there are the RV sites. They are in 2 rows of 8 spaces each surrounded on 3 sides by 17 back in sites. I believe all sites are FHU and satellite friendly.
There are no bath or other facilities in the park. There are, of course, bathrooms in the casino. There is nothing between the RV park and the bay, so the views of the water and Northern Cascade Mountains to the east are clear. I saw no sign of any recycling. After reading some of the comments in previous years, namely the extremely negative review done in June we were somewhat sceptical about booking at Swinomish.
Access to the casino rv park was well marked and easy to navigate with wide access lanes. When we arrived I asked the front desk staff what the power voltage was and they were told by phone with maintenance that it was 30 amp and volts.
This was confirmed when I plugged in my surge guard power protector and all green lights showed. We were told to go to our site, which was shown on the park rv map and settle in then come back and register, which was reassuring as often you have paid only to find out the site looks better on the web page than in reality.
Water, pressure showed just under 40 psi so there was no concern about incurring damage to our rv's plumbing system. Power, cable, water, and sewer were all available at the rear of our unit, which is consistent with any other park layout.
We found the park very well maintained, garbage was picked up twice daily and the sprinklers came on before dawn to water the grass. Our site had two picnic tables that we were able to position where we wanted without any difficulty. The walkway from the rv park to the casino was well light with pedestal post lights and a paved walkway. Yes, the park is situated next to train tracks and the train using those tracks moved slowly not creating much noise.
We heard the train whistle each day once in the late afternoon and never during the evening or night. We stayed for three nights and would stay again if in the area. The park has an overflow area for those folks wanting to stay in the area but dry camp and is spacious and level. This is a great place to use as a home base while exploring Burlington, LaConnor, and Anacortes. Check out Anthony's seafood restaurant in Anacortes, excellent food.
CC company said it happens a lot when used at casinos. Nice park with many improvements underway. Very good Two-Salmon Restaurant in hotel. They do not charge cars to stay in the parking lot! RVs are parked in a little used vacant part of the parking lot and no services are used except in my case one car parking spot.
They do have a substandard RV Park that has very limited services and very low power about 90 volts or less , which can damage your electrical and electronic equipment.
Which it has done to me! My power supply and my fridge were damaged and I had to replace them at my cost, as the manufacture would not honor the warranty. Camping World in Burlington had my RV for about eight months trying to get the manufacture to pay. I agree with many of the reviews posted on line, many which are as follows. No facilities for the RV campers, no washrooms, no showers, no laundry, and sewer connector located between RV where the picnic tables are located, not pleasant to eat or sit at.
Train runs right beside the camp ground at all times of the day and night, sounds its air horn three times before crossing the rail bridge, wakes everyone up at around 4AM in the Hotel and RV Park.
Hotel has taken over reservations from the casino and wants everything charged to your credit card, they have to call a supervisor if you want to pay in cash and they still may charge your credit card which will take months to get a refund. Hotel does not take reservations but assigns campsites regardless of the size and type of RV.
They have been very unorganized and it can take some time to check in. Power is low, about Volts you must have a cable box to get cable and channels are very iffy, possible due to the low power.
Water pressure is very high so be sure to use a pressure regulator. A large air conditioner about the size of a city bus is located behind the hotel closet to the RV Park that can be quite noisy, Ducts can pulsate and some times has a high frequency noise that only some people can hear, I am one that can hear it and have to use ear plugs to sleep and not get a head ache. Finding your way into the RV Park is difficult and at night as it is very poorly lighted.
Wifi is intermittent; you can connect to the router but not the Internet. Site numbers are difficult to see they are now painted on road where road dirt will obscure them, before they were on posts. They water the grass at inappropriate times, it can be a real challenge to get between the RV park and hotel especially at night as you can hear the sprinklers but can not see them. There is not much of a variety of food offered at Swinomish just about all of it is very spicy and is more for the Spanish palate, which maybe is their customer base.
They went high class and fancy after the Hotel was built. As no washrooms for the RV Park I have witnessed some disgusting acts. When camping in site 11 I had to take my dog for a walk at 4AM and saw someone squatting at the rear of their RV in site 8. Later after they left I realized he had taken a dump behind the RV. I called the Casino and they sent someone out with a dustpan and broom to clean it up. While staying in site 32, I saw two people in site 33 who had a van, not an RV, use a bucket to go to the bathroom, later when it got dark they dumped the bucket in the long grass.
I have also seen the same thing happen at the Silver Reef Casino. Another time we stayed in site 20, at least 10 people with five cars stayed in site 21 in a large popup camper. In the morning I witnessed both men and women taking a pee behind their RV and two males took a pee in the area behind my slide out where my power cord, water hose and cable cord is.
