Looking for an obituary for a different person with this name? Frank Harold Stone Mar. He graduated from Salinas High School and was class president for a year of high school.

He decided against a career as a professional baseball player because the pay was too low!!! He also had a passion for American History but ultimately joined the Army to serve along with his father and little brother Frederick Stone.

All three served in WWII. Just young men, Frank was infantry and Fred his brother was a gunner in a fighter plane. His family suffered a great loss when Fred was shot down in his plane over France at the age of 18 and died.

Frank, his father and his brother were all war heroes who fought the Nazis and Frank himself was able to liberate the starving prisoners in the concentration camps. Frank owned the Insurance Center of Salinas and took great pride in giving exceptional service to his customers and clients. His son David Frank Stone worked with him for 30 years in his insurance business. He was an avid 49er supporter for his whole life holding season tickets since the inception in until the last year at Candlestick Park.
