We don't like to drive freeways at night so when we have some special program to attend -- drawing, shows, fireworks, etc. Ameristar has acres of parking lots plus a 4-story parking garage so plenty of parking space.

They ask campers and trucks to park in one lot near the front entrance. You can't miss it, there are always semi trucks parked there and usually some campers. It is a pretty good hike to the casino and no shuttle service is provided. The lot is large enough campers can usually get away from the noise of the trucks. Our motorhome is small so we normally park in a regular car parking lot closer to the casino then move to the big lot for overnight parking.

Sometimes we have a note on our windshield when we come out of the casino telling us where we should park but nothing more serious or threatening. Welcome to Casino Camper! When you turn onto Bowlin Rd go slow as the campground entrance is not well marked and will come up on you quickly. It is the next left after you pass Lakewood Way. County campground on outskirts of kc, near lake but not within walking distance.

Sites are large and well spaced, most with some shade. My GPS found it but some won't, use google maps. Can't make same day reservations, go on Web site to register. Laundry available good water pressure at site - daviputnam. As you can see from past reviews, ratings are quite variable.

I come down on the side of lower ratings. Stayed one night and wouldn't come back. Site 27 is full hook-up, but not approaching level. It had rained and mud had washed down the hill and covered the gravel. I can see how locals who are familiar would be able to reserve one of the nicer sites, but reserving one site is really pot luck. I had asked when I made a reservation and was assured it was a "very nice spot" - mroswell. New restrooms with showers, lots of open space.

Good place to camp if exploring the area. Jacom0 is a Jackson County CG. Stayed one night, while passing through. Site was beyond small, two tiered sloping site with RV and tow vehicle on upper level and all utilities Full Hook Up on adjacent lot. Two truck tires surrounded water pipe.

Property needs sound barriers. Don't count on any WIFI. Don't waste your time trying to hook up. The only pleasant thing about the place was the woman who checked us in. As noted, an older park that needs some upgrades. We specifically told them we needed satellite, but didn't have any chance of getting a signal. No cable, but antenna picked up a good number of the free channels like Metv, AntennaTv and local networks.

Laundry small but clean. Several machines out of order. Our site had a pond in the street next to us due to heavy rain. A nice park across the road to walk the dog, and a RV center next door which is convenient for parts or supplies. This is a old campground that we have been to over the past 27 year. It is heavily used. It is in need of a good up grade through out the park. Most sites are in need of a lot of gravel. Our site was muddy from rain last night. Their full time residents have the same problem with mud and water in the holes in the lanes around their area.

Excellent campground and facilities. Perfect spot with easy access to the lake for swimming, boating or fishing. Have stayed there before and definitely will again! Sites are fairly level with utilities placed in the right place. This is a very busy campground on the weekends.

We stayed in loop b which was just fine. We stayed here over Memorial Day and the noise level was non-existent. We camped here in a 40' motorhome. So we can only give a review on what we experienced here and not compare to others. Nice roomy and level gravel campsite with view of water. Nice Facility and very convenient to Kansas City and Kansas suburbs. Small park with closely spaced sites on gravel. Very friendly, helpful staff - clean facilities.

Traveling in a 38 foot coach we stayed 3 nights in a site for big rigs. If you look at the convenience of staying close to the city then you can overlook the sites that are close together, and the fact that everything is gravel. The office gal was supper nice and friendly. Price is a little high but being that close to Kansas City you need to except. This is a no frills RV Park in a residential neighborhood, not far from the big box stores on the freeway.

We were in a pull through site right next to the entrance. It was a very basic 30amp gravel site, but it was the only site so far on a monthlong road trip where we didn't need a single leveling block.

The sewer hookup had a small leak, so dumping wasn't fun, but we got it done without much mess. The manager was really helpful. She made sure she was out there when we drove up to help us into our site.
